Bringing the BIM Experience to Civil Engineering Students of Western Philippines University: Giving students the knowledge and the Right Tools to carry BIM into their Projects
A substantial percentage of businesses in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries are engaged with Building Information Modeling (BIM). As part of their education, Western Philippines University must prepare Civil Engineering students to work with building information models face-to-face using the right tools where students learn about current technologies and how to utilize them into real-world scenarios.
This is what Stanford IT Learning- The Training Division of CIM Technologies, Inc. is geared up to; to give students the knowledge and the right tools to carry BIM into their projects. To help students keep pace with the current demands in the industry, Stanford IT Learning conducted a seminar/ workshop for students and faculty members of Western Philippines University last January 29 & 30, 2018 entitled "Introduction to BIM using Autodesk Revit Architecture."
Part of this plan is to continue doing these activities by matching a global working environment on university campuses. Civil engineering students from WPU are already in high demand and will be even more so if they enter the industry with hands-on experience with BIM Technology. The BIM initiative will give WPU students and faculty access to equipment, software and updaed classroom that reflect current industry technology.
